Christian Beckett , , , CEO

CHRISTIAN J. BECKETT has served as chief executive officer since April 2008 and as a member of the board of directors since March 11, 2011. He has more than 20 years’ experience in the energy industry.

Prior to joining Pacific Drilling, Beckett led the strategic business development and planning group at Transocean Ltd. from 2004 to 2008. From 2001 to 2004, he served at McKinsey & Company, Inc., where he provided strategic and operating advice to global energy companies and governments. And from 1990 to 2001, he worked for Schlumberger Limited in a series of international management roles with increasing responsibilities.

Beckett holds a Bachelor of Science degree in exploration geophysics from University College London and an MBA from Rice University.

Paul Reese , , , EVP and CFO

PAUL T. REESE joined Pacific Drilling in October 2008 and was appointed executive vice president and chief financial officer in February 2015. He was named CFO in February 2014 and previously served as vice president, controller. Reporting to him are finance, treasury, IT, facilities, audit, compliance, IR, communications and tax.

Reese has been a finance professional in the oilfield services and E&P space for more than 20 years. Prior to joining Pacific Drilling, he was controller for the global exploration and development divisions at BHP Billiton Petroleum.

From 1995 to 2007, Reese served in various financial management roles at Transocean, including finance director for the North and South America business units, assistant vice president for audit and advisory services, and finance manager for the Asia and Australia and South America regions, with international posts in Asia and Central and South America.

Prior to joining Transocean, Reese was an auditor in the Houston offices of Arthur Andersen LLP. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics and managerial studies and a Master of Accounting from Rice University.

Cees Van Diemen , , , EVP and COO

CEES VAN DIEMEN joined Pacific Drilling in 2009 and was named executive vice president and chief operating officer in February 2015, responsible for operations, major projects, operational excellence, subsea support and technical support. He was appointed COO in August 2013.

He has more than 37 years of industry experience and began his career offshore with Sedneth (now Transocean) in 1977. His extensive industry experience includes 25 years at Neddrill/Noble, where he held various management positions working with jack-ups, semi-submersibles and drillships, and as a result residing in several countries in Europe, North and South America and West Africa.

Van Diemen concluded his national service duty as a first lieutenant in the army. He holds a bachelor’s degree in automotive engineering from the University of Arnhem, The Netherlands.

Michael Acuff , , , SVP Sales and Business Development

MICHAEL D. ACUFF was appointed senior vice president of sales and business development in June 2014, responsible for management and administration of the company’s sales, contract acquisition and corporate planning activities. Acuff has more than 15 years of industry experience and most recently was senior vice president of contracts and marketing at Diamond Offshore.

His extensive industry experience includes more than a decade at Transocean, where he held various management positions in marketing, corporate planning, operations and human resources. Prior to joining Transocean, Acuff served in the U.S. Army from 1993 to 1997 as battery executive officer, battalion personnel officer and platoon leader.

Acuff holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Tennessee and an MBA in finance from Rice University.

Tony Seeliger , , , SVP Operations

TONY SEELIGER was named senior vice president of operations over the Africa and Americas regions in February 2015 and was appointed vice president of Americas in July 2012. He provides overall direction and guidance to the operational activities, with the objective of maximizing HSE and operational performance, growth and profitability, as well as day-to-day leadership and management of the Americas operations functions.

Seeliger joined Pacific with 20-plus years of industry experience, including an extensive background in operations management. He spent nine years with Ensco/Pride, most recently as vice president of Middle East and Africa activities and previously in similar management positions based in Brazil, the Gulf of Mexico and corporate/Houston. Prior to Ensco/Pride, Seeliger held various positions at industry-related companies including Santa Fe International and Amerada Hess Corp.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in business administration from the University of Southern California and a Master of Business Administration from Southern Methodist University.

Malcolm Beattie , , , VP Human Resources

Malcolm Beattie was appointed vice president of human resources in February 2015, responsible for operational HR strategy development and execution, organizational planning and design, and recruitment and training. He has 30 years of industry experience in operations management and HR roles.

Beattie joined the company in 2014 as director of training and organizational development. Prior to Pacific Drilling, Beattie worked for Schlumberger with posts in the United States, South and Central America, North and West Africa, the U.K. and the Middle East.

He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in geology from Edinburgh University, U.K., and an MBA from Henley Management College at the University of Reading, U.K.

John Boots , , , VP Finance and Treasurer

JOHANNES (JOHN) P. BOOTS was appointed vice president of finance and treasurer in December 2009, responsible for the company’s global treasury and insurance activities, which include management of the capital structure, financing transactions, liquidity, credit ratings, financial risks, and relationships with investment and commercial banks and capital markets institutions. In addition, he is managing the Luxembourg office.

He has 25-plus years of experience in public and private U.S. and European companies in the international oil service sector. Before joining Pacific Drilling, Boots was corporate treasurer at Global Industries for four years, preceded by two years as interim financial consultant, and 14 years at Noble Corp. and its predecessor Neddrill in various financial management roles, including treasury, corporate planning, accounting and internal audit. Prior to Noble, he worked in the shipping and transportation industry for several years in various operational management roles.

Boots holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business economics from the University of Alkmaar, the Netherlands.

Michael Curtis , , , VP Procurement and Supply Chain

MICHAEL CURTIS was appointed vice president of procurement and supply chain in February 2015. He is responsible for the company’s procurement, logistics and inventory, and travel functions, planned maintenance system, and relationships with key vendors.

Curtis joined the company in 2011 and most recently was director of procurement. Prior to joining the company he spent eight years at Transocean where he held management positions in supply chain, marketing, rig management and corporate planning with assignments in Houston, Angola and the U.S. Gulf of Mexico. He spent the first five years of his career in a variety of project management positions with increasing responsibilities at Bovis Lend Lease.

Curtis holds a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from Bucknell University and an MBA from the Simon Business School at the University of Rochester.

Paul Linkin , , , VP QHSE

PAUL LINKIN was appointed vice president of quality and HSE in March 2009. He has more than 20 years’ experience in the energy industry.

Prior to joining Pacific Drilling, he worked for Schlumberger for 18 years. Linkin held global roles with the company’s QHSE from 2003 to 2009, during which time he implemented global QHSE management systems and supporting infrastructure and processes. From 1998 to 2003, he served in regional QHSE and operations management positions. During his early years with the Schlumberger, he served in a series of international field management roles with increasing responsibilities.

Linkin holds a Bachelor of Engineering honors degree in electrical and electronic engineering from Portsmouth Polytechnic.

Lisa Manget Buchanan , , , SVP and General Counsel

LISA MANGET BUCHANAN joined Pacific Drilling in August 2015 as senior vice president, general counsel and secretary of Pacific Drilling.

Buchanan has 30 years of legal experience, most recently serving as executive vice president, general counsel and secretary and chief administrative officer at Cal Dive International, Inc. from June 2006 to July 2015. From 1987 to 2006, she was an attorney at the law firm of Jones Walker LLP, first as an associate and then, commencing January 1994, as a partner.

Buchanan holds a Bachelor of Science degree in commerce from the University of Virginia and a Juris Doctorate from Louisiana State University Law Center.

Amy Roddy , , , VP Corporate Services

AMY L. RODDY was appointed vice president of corporate services in May 2015, responsible for human resources, investor relations, media and other communications efforts. She was promoted to vice president of investor relations and communications in February 2013.

She joined the company in 2011 and has more than 12 years of industry experience, including time at Transocean, where she held management positions in investor relations and corporate planning. Prior to joining Transocean, Roddy worked as a process engineer for Fluor Corp.

Roddy holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Texas A&M University, as well as a Master of Engineering Management and an MBA from Northwestern University.

Matthew Schwartz , , , VP Audit and Compliance

MATTHEW P. SCHWARTZ was appointed vice president of audit and compliance in April 2014. He is responsible for the company’s internal audit function and for developing, maintaining and overseeing the management of the compliance program within the organization.

He joined the company in 2010 and has nearly 20 years of finance and audit experience, with more than 14 years in the offshore drilling industry, including a decade at Transocean.

Schwartz holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting and business administration from the University of Kansas and an MBA from Baker University.

Richard Tatum , , , VP Controller

RICHARD E. TATUM was appointed vice president controller in March 2014 and serves as the company’s principal accounting officer. Tatum joined Pacific Drilling in October 2010 and most recently was director of financial reporting. Tatum has more than 15 years of experience in offshore drilling and public accounting.

Prior to joining the company, he served at Frontier Drilling from 2009 until its merger with Noble Drilling Corp. Tatum began his career as an auditor with Grant Thornton LLP, where he held a variety of roles with increasing responsibilities; his latest as manager in Grant Thornton’s National Professional Standards Group.

Tatum received his Bachelor of Business Administration and Master in Professional Accounting degrees from the University of Texas at Austin and is a CPA.

Dick Verhaagen , , , VP Africa

Dick Verhaagen was appointed vice president Africa in February 2015. He is responsible for the company’s operations in the Africa region. He has more than 25 years of industry experience, including extensive experience in operations and project management.

Verhaagen joined Pacific Drilling in 2013 and most recently was director operations Africa. Prior to Pacific Drilling, he spent 15 years with Transocean in various roles, including director of projects for Asia Pacific, with positions in Africa, Europe, North and South America and Asia. He began his career at Neddrill/Noble, working internationally in roles of increasing responsibility.

Verhaagen holds a Master of Science degree in petroleum engineering from Delft University of Technology.

Mike Weinstein , , , VP Tax

MIKE WEINSTEIN was appointed vice president of tax in February 2015 and oversees the company's global tax function, including tax compliance, accounting for income taxes, and tax planning. He has more than 12 years of tax experience in offshore drilling and public accounting.

Weinstein joined Pacific Drilling in August 2010. Prior to joining the company, he was with PwC's Houston office from 2003 to 2010, holding a variety of roles with increasing responsibilities, most recently as a director in PwC's international tax services group.

Weinstein holds a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Master of Accounting degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is a CPA.

Coy Wright , , , VP IT and CIO

COY WRIGHT was named chief information officer of Pacific Drilling in May 2015 and joined the company as vice president of information technology in December 2008. He has 25 years of experience managing information technology within global energy, banking and high-technology companies.

Prior to joining Pacific Drilling, he served as director of information technology for GulfMark Offshore Inc. from 2005 to 2008 and was responsible for global information technology. From 2002 to 2005, Wright was vice president of applications for Amegy Bank. Prior to joining Amegy, he held senior information technology positions with Cable and Wireless, Halliburton(Landmark Graphics) and Weatherford International.

Wright holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) with a focus in management information systems from the University of Houston.
